For those aged 7 to 20, join our curling program at Cumberland Curling Club: Saturday mornings starting Oct. 2023!

We’re excited to announce that Cumberland Curling Club is offering youth programs starting in October! Little Rocks and Junior Rocks programs are a perfect introduction to the fun of curling for children and youth aged 7 to 20.

The main objective of the program is for everyone to have fun! Our fantastic coaches will teach the fundamentals of curling, including rock delivery, sweeping, and scoring. Sessions will include drills and short games while participants learn positions of play, strategy, curling etiquette, and teamwork skills. Interested players will have opportunities to participate in various youth bonspiels throughout the season, all hosted within the Ottawa area.

The youth programs runs on Saturdays from mid-October to early April and is divided into two age categories:

  • Little Rocks (ages 7 to 12) from 9:00 am - 10:00 am
  • Junior Rocks (ages 13 to 20) from 10:15 am - 11:45 am

Registration fee: $140 per youth

Note: The youth program is separate from the Learn-to-Curl program, which is adult-oriented and runs in the evening.

Please note that members are required to have:

  • CLEAN, INDOOR shoes or proper curling shoes. If you don't have curling shoes, we will have sliders available but strongly encourage you to have proper gear. You can buy a slider and two grippers for around $70 taxes in at the Navan Curling Club pro shop.
  • A CSA-approved helmet. This can be a hockey/ringette, ski or snowboard helmet.

Brooms will be provided by the Club though you are welcome to bring your own if you have one.

Additional information:

We suggest that the curlers dress in layers and bring a pair of thin gloves once the weather gets colder. There is a water cooler available so you are welcome to bring water bottles. We intend to provide snacks so please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if there are any allergies of which we should be aware.
