Our Little Rocks and Junior Rocks programs offer children and youth aged 7 to 17 a fantastic introduction to the joys of curling.
Led by our dedicated coaches, new participants will learn fundamental skills such as rock delivery, sweeping techniques, and scoring. Experienced participants will continue to develop their skills in break away groups.
Sessions include drills, short games, and focus on positions, strategy, etiquette, and teamwork. Throughout the season, players have opportunities to join various youth bonspiels across Ottawa.
2024-2025 Program Details
- Season: Saturday, October 19, 2024 – Saturday, April 5, 2025 (no lesson on December 28, 2024)
- Times:
- Little Rocks (ages 7-12): 9:00 am - 10:30 am
- Junior Rocks (ages 13-20): 10:45 am - 12:15 pm
- Registration Fee: $140 per youth
Equipment Requirements
Participants must have:
- Curling shoes or clean (new) reserved shoes or curling shoes with grippers (2) and a slider (1). Some grippers and sliders are available at the club to borrow.
- CSA-approved helmet (e.g., hockey, ringette, ski, snowboard). A very limited number of helmets are available to borrow at the club on a first-come, first serve basis.
- Brooms are available to borrow at the club, but participants can bring their own if they prefer.
Additional Information
- Dress in layers and bring thin gloves.
- Parental concussion code of conduct required (Rowan's Law).
- Coaches and helpers have completed police background checks.
